The main inspiration for this work has been my love for skiing. Living in the Pacific Northwest, has blessed me with access to areas like Alpental, Crystal, Bachelor, Steven’s, Hood, and Whistler, to name a few, each of which has imprinted its particular mark in my creative process.
By advancing my snow skills, I was naturally drawn to the challenge of backcountry skiing. I’d long heard the rumors of the mythical knee deep powder stashes. However, like any magical world, it’s not easy to arrive there, and the journey can be dangerous. Snow explores should always consider the risk of avalanches. These paintings are the personification of the thrill seeker.
